Confused Looking for tabs or info on open E tuning for 6 string using 2 palm levers one on 2nd string and one on third.I would think one of the early 6 string pedal steels would have used a similar set up??Any help would be appreciated.

I've been using this tuning and lever set up for a few years now and I've never found any decent tab. I use it primarily for blues, rock and country.

I read somewhere that Sol Hoopie played in open E almost exclusively, so you know it works for Hawaiian music as well.

My advice is to practice a lot. LOL! That worked for me.

Carl, for real nice steel guitar sounds, tune to E9 with the same lever configuration. You will in essence be using the same tuning Bud Isaacs, Speedy West and Buddy Emmons used way back, but without the 7th and 8th strings:

E
B
G#
F#
D
B

A lot of music hiding in there.

J--Sol Hoopii used a variation on E tuning, raising the second string to C#. It's called C#min7 tuning. That's what I learned on.
