There seem many periodic get-togethers listed in this section. Is there any of this going on here in AZ?

All responses welcome, of course.

PS: I've heard the term Arizona Carport Pickers, but nothing beyond that.

Jonathan Candler will be playing a double header in Flagstaff, AZ on Wednesday, June 8th

Heritage Square, Downtown 5-6 pm
The Orpheum Theater 8pm

He will have a live band
Come out and support this young upandcomer
I'm sure he wouldn't be opposed to lettin' Hal Rugg sit in. It sure would be cool and turn the pedal steel world loose on Flagstaff. Lots of music fans here.

Well, since I moved out of Flag, things are starting to happen on the Mountain. Of course, a bunch of great guys formed the SWSGA and I'm not there to see, play, enjoy the camaraderie with some fine players and all around nice people. My loss.

Billy, you're so kind to let Californians in for the fun that eludes some of us on the Left Coast.
I would enjoy nothing more than to sit down with a friend and trade licks that we've gleaned from our heros over the years and hopefully you and I will get to do just that sometime.
Having lived in the Copper State, I am very familiar with the temperature in the Valley Of The Sun in June. When you live on the Coast as we do and the daytime temps are around the low to mid 60s, it's hard to break away from wonderful to sizzling, haha.
It's also Car Show season in the Golden State. When you have two restored '57 Chevies that beg to be displayed like ours, you tend to obey the need.
On Father's Day weekend, there's the annual car show in Pismo Beach and it's almost a crime to miss it. So, I guess for now, we'll take a rain check on our jam participation and look forward to making that appointment soon. In the mean time, keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Gary....
I understand completely. But we must make time to get together soon and play some music. I too enjoy vintage cars and love to got to car shows. Who knows, some day when you least expect it, I will show up at a car show where you are exhibiting your beautiful 57s. Take care and give your sweet wife a hug from us.

James in response to your post,I'm the "Head Carport Picker" and plan for a jam in my carport this November. I usually have it in October but Denny Sarver, our Master Bass Player will be out of town all that month.I'll remind you at a time closer to the date and we will be looking for you there.

Billy and Ray, thanks for your heads-up's. I'll be out of town this weekend, would have enjoyed the jam at AJ, and will look forward to hearing of the AZCP jam later on.

All the best.
