Jamie,
Super!!
What do those guitars cost ?
Their not advertising prices at the Franklin site.
It's hard to find new steels without the pad.

...here's the story...when I went to Paul sr.'s house in 1989, he showed me this guitar, the first with cutaway corners. He said he was tired of TV camera's scanning across the stage & switching cameras before they got to the nameplate, going from right to left. He was going to make every guitar after this with cutaway corners.I bought this guitar, thinking I would have the first one with the cutaway corners, whereas I ended up with the ONLY one.He had later changed his mind. I got him to sign this "Note" for those who would not believe or know the story...sorry, I should have mentioned this with the pic. The only change I've made was "color" the webs with markers. When I showed the colored fretboard webs to paul in 2006, he liked it...Rene

My apology to Rene.

I must have been traveling. This guitar is a one of a kind guitar and its existence was news to me.....Dad said he was indeed trying out a different look and
the feedback about the new look was to keep it the way it was.

I'll delete my earlier post.

Scott the older Franklin's with the original logo were on plates (or some of them). I was looking at later ones with the "rounded" logo (According to Paul Sr, mine was the first to get the new logo, that was designed by the keyboard player in Mel Tillis' band, except they extended the F like the original).
