Hey gang I need some good solid advice on sanding and polishing my pedal bar on my ole sho-bud. I thought maybe I could take the scratches out with a non aggressive rubbing compound but the scratches are pretty deep and since I have no experience in refinishing aluminum I stopped and started this thread. I catch on really quick and want to do it myself because I want the satisfaction of something I have done myself and I dont have funds to pay someone. Thanks Slim

I would use a good 6" electric buffer with buffing compound.

Good luck with your project. There can be a lot of satisfaction in maintaining and fixing up your own instruments and other equipment.

Cool

You can sand with some 180 paper and maybe some 220 then buff with a good buffing compound the red rouge or the green will do it for you , there is really no need to use finer sanding than 220 , some will tell you that you must use something like 400 or 600 grit sanding but its really not the case ..

Don't breath the dust! Wet sand with wet and dry.
