Hey there.... I need to sell my ZB Custom S10 pedal steel guitar. 4 pedals, 5 knee levers. It's an E9 tuning. Emmons pedal arrangement. I'm happy to provide more details about the pedal and knee lever arrangement upon request.
Price lowered- $1250
Good things about the guitar:
It sounds amazing!
I had it rebuilt by Billy Knowles a few years ago, so the mechanics are solid and dependable.
Original fantastic single coil pickup with the three position coil tap
Nice new case with wheels!
Bad things about the guitar:
The finish is pretty worked. Colors are faded (very typical of ZB's), and the lacquer is flaking in many areas.
One of the legs is wobbly. The problem is in the leg, not the socket. I think it could be fixed by replacing the threaded insert in the leg. The legs themselves are pretty beat up (the endplates and metal parts on the actual guitar were polished by Billy when he rebuilt it).
I wouldn't be selling it were it not for some financial hardship. I've had it for 5 or 6 years and I hate to see it go.
I live just north of San Francisco. I'd love to sell this locally!
Thanks!
Henry

Ok! Sorry to all who have been awaiting setup info- I've been unexpectedly frantically busy...
Tuning, skinny to fat strings:
1. F#
2. Eb
3. G#
4. E
5. B
6. G#
7. F#
8. E
9. C#
10. B
LKL - 4 and 8, E's raise to F
LKV - 4, E to F#
LKR - 2 lowers to D, 9 raises to D
RKL - 4 and 8, E's lower to Eb
RKR - 1 and 7, F#'s raise to G
Of the four pedals, the pedal on the far left raises string #7 from f# to G#, and string #10 from B to C#
The other three pedals are standard A-B-C.
There, I think I got that all right:)
Again, sorry for the delay...
I'll be out of town till monday the 30th, but I will have email access.
Thanks for all of your interest!

If I didn't have to drop $5500.00 on a new engine for the Audi this week, I would be on this. I mean really on this. |

I just did some investigating. Only one leg is wobbly, and it's definitely the leg, not the socket. I would guess that it could be fixed by replacing the threaded insert on the leg. |

Alrighty, I need to sell this guitar... How about $1400 shipped in the lower 48, or $1300 local sale? I really hate to let go of this guitar. It's tough being a grown-up:) |

I know Tom played mostly 11 strings but that F# 4th string on a knee lever looks like one of Toms set ups..
Just my opin-ee-un |

Hey Henry - did you play this guitar in a band called crop-duster back in the 90s? I think I played with you a couple of times...: ) |

Hey, Abe... No I didn't play with Cropduster then, but those guys are all good friends of mine, and I've played in a bunch of different bands with most of them, including some Cropduster reunion "moments". Who were you playing with back then? |

I played in a band called 'the lids' out of petaluma for some time. We played with cropduster at Chris Sawyer's house one time and they had a pedal steel player with long blond hair that played a ZB I think... It was late in their run... maybe a reunion? I've known Brian and Andy those guys since the 80s. Funny we never ran into each other. I wasn't playing steel back then. |

Yeah, funny. Seems like I've heard your name around, though. That would been Justin Barr playing with them back. |
