Andy, that's Johnny Allen on steel, a Canadian steel player. I have a recording of his, he was very good.

Here's the first cut from the album above:

Johnny doesn't play pedals on the Steelin' Guitars LP, just on the Sons of the Saddle one.

Thanks for sharing that, very nice indeed.

That has to be hands down the most professional Stringmaster pedal modification I have ever seen. Im sure there have been others, but that's the best I've laid eyes on.

I just finished resurrecting an outboard neck from a 1956 24.5" quad that had gone through the most violent modification (attempt) that any sane person could possibly imagine. It had six 7/16" holes drilled through the side, eight carved out slots for bell cranks on the bottom, and a huge block strait through the body removed at the bridge, it was so bad I got it for free, it's been veneered and now has a new coat of lacquer that's curing awaiting wet sand/polish.

In the last 4 or 5 years I have come across two Stringmasters with identical conversions for pedals, most recently a Quad that was on EBay this past January. I got the Quad for what I thought was a very good price including a partial refund from the seller as when the guitar arrived it needed alot of rewiring. The two guitars came from different parts of the country but have identical parts and routing etc. I have yet to set up the Quad and am curious what effect the routing will have on tone. A metal fabricator friend said he would redo the hardware underneath so I may resurrect the guitar with one neck with 2 pedals, adding some type of return springs and possibly a roller bridge. If it ever leaves the house I will have to hire a roadie to schlep it around for me. Anyway here are some photos.

I just posted in the pedal section with some pics and description of my recently retrofitted T-8.

Best of both worlds! I've really been happy with it.
