Hi Rick,
It is a Stella. Matches the Stella pickup, body shape, serial number arrangement and case. I have never seen one with this tuner arrangement, usually they were fitted to the rear of the headstock rather than the sides. It's possible (since there is no name on it) that it was made for a wholesaler or jobber or mail order catalogue. I can't really see the bridge / tailpiece, but it looks like it might be a Gibson bridge.
Stella electrics were made during the brief period 1935-40, after Oscar Schmidt went bankrupt and the company was owned by Fretted Instrument Manufacturers, who sold out to Harmony in either '39 or '40, accounts differ. Anyway, one of the very first solid body wood guitars. Very cool, thanks for sharing!
