I got a handshake from him as he sat behind his kit, instead of a poke in the nose.
I'll enjoy this film, in a defensive posture! |

He pointed out in the Cream documentery what a poor rythm section Jimmy Hendrix had. Sorry, Ginger. You and Mitch Mitchell were both in the same class. Except he was lucent. Jealosy |

Yeah some of these guys seem to be on their last legs. It's sad to suddenly realize how old and worn out everyone from my generation has gotten - unfortunately that includes me. |

Thanx for the link Arch ( U2 Michael )
most instructive !
i caught Cream when they first came over & played for a whole week at a Murray the K show in NYC in 67 (?)
much later i caught a great show in Paris,w: Jack, Van the man & that English organ player ( can't remember his name ) who wrote " she said yeah yeah "
Jack was an innovator to pop musik - great musician & singer
like many, he'd been through Alexis Corner's "institution"
i was surprised to see how Ginger finally made out, thinkin' that, like "Keef", the grim reaper did'nt want to take him on... |

`English organ player`? I'm not going to Google it. Just guess that it might be Alan Price....or Georgie Fame....or....?

I have an old single by Manfred Man, the B- side has Paul Jones on harmonica and Jack Bruce on double bass doing a tribute to Sonny Boy Williamson, really good!
I saw Clapton and Baker (and maybe Phil Seamen) without bass, in '68 at a British festival. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Yes exactly Olli, that was the place, I think the correct name of the town was Sudbury, can't believe that you was there also! One of my greatest memories, ever. I remember right now that one of the two guys I was with, was hitchhiking, and he got a lift in the van from the group Marmalade who were also on the bill.
Btw you must have a good father.
P.S.
You are right with Sunbury, have you seen this already?

I was also at this show in NYC..., I believe we went to the very first show, for some reason we wanted to see them first !
If I recall they played like 3 songs...
I saw them maybe a year later in Westport Ct,( hometown) It was amazing, G Baker got off his drums during one of the songs and just kinda walked around, pushed his bass drum back a few inches then started playing again !
G Baker is an amazing drummer...

If I recall they played like 3 songs... |
each band played about 20/30 minutes which was'nt really very much
Cream either started off or ended w: the 1812 overture
& the Who ended w: my generation, the smoke machines,& igniting black powder
Wilson Pickett had Buddy Miles on Drums,
the Mandala, Mitch Ryder & the Detroit wheels
