George L 12-5 pickup install help needed

I am helping a friend install a George L 12-5 pickup in his guitar. We have the wiring diagram for the pickup and 5 position switch (which is very vague) but needed some help as to how to wire in the volume control and cable jack outlet. The volume pot has an orange cap soldered to it and I am wondering where on the 5 positiob seitch to solder it to, also the wiring of all three together. We are wiring it to the 5 sound pickup and not the single sound. The diagram speaks nothing of wiring in theses other knobs and plugs. I tired calling Georoge L and they couldnt even hwlp me and Jim Palenscar who I heard is a whiz at this is gone to Texas. Any help appreciated guys.
