thanks for this bob, I am reading another book on Mastering by Owsinski , lots of common stuff. I'm printing your post and it will live on my workstation as good go to reference. Understanding proper frequencies while tracking makes for a nice final mix.

I see a lot of EQ changes when various pre-sets are selected in the VST plugins provided with Sonar, I have Sonar X1D Extendend 64 bit version (I also have Pro Tools MP9 but I haven't really done a lot with it, Sonar is my "production" DAW).

I just bought a Ozone 5, a mastering program and that opens up a totally new "bag of worms" for me.
