(Suffice it to say, life's been better if we're really seeing this in For Sale: Instruments.)

Brilliantly and completely refurbished (James Morehead) red/natural Sho-Bud doubleneck. Small chip off top plate of E9th pickup. Light bar dings but still amazing original condition. Emmons Set-up. 8+4. Began as 8 + 2 then James added the other two. Serial number 10xx. According to historical Sho-Bud records this was built by Paul Franklin 4/26/71.

Comes with original case...with two issues. First is its original design. Body can slide inside during shipping, handling etc., putting switches in jeopardy. For this reason, I really don't want to ship it. (A refused damage claim from shipping guitars is mostly why life is hell right now.) Also, the original handle gave up the ghost. I've replaced it with a leather handle for a standard guitar case but its lack of reinforcement will be a problem. It's designed to support 20 pounds--this D-10 is 75 or 80.

This D-10 is so smooth and perfect, I'd normally ask $2K, but instead I'd rather do $1800 and local Southern California pickup only. Cash/postal M O only; no PayPal.

OMG wish I had the cash for this beauty! I was JUST saying to my wife how I sometimes wish I had an old D-10 rather than my modern S-10...and I'm even in the neighborhood Sad And those look like rack and barrel changers too...oh my, someone's gonna get a sweet ride!

Let me know if you're at all interested in a trade and I can bring my Lamar over and jam, but it sounds like that's not what you've got in mind...

Beautiful steel-REALLY wish I could help you out!

Nice guitar!!

Shipping this would be easier if you took the outside nut off the switches, as well as the washers, to ship it. The switches would just poke back through the holes into the body. Put the loose parts into a ziplock stuffed into the case. No broken switches!

If you're undergoing shipping claim nightmares I can understand your reluctance to go double, but slipping inside the case is kind of a non-issue. You can cut sections of a 2X4 and wrap them in bath towels, use paperback books, hard foam.... you hopefully can find a local, though. There are still a few people living in So. California.

There was a local guy who was building speaker cabinets and shipping them through UPS. Besides having a cordial relationship with the manager at the UPS store, he took pictures of each and every cabinet before shipping, and had a copy of the pictures IN the file that shipped with the speakers. It kind of serves notice to the handlers down the road that if there is any damage, the time and location where it happened can be pinpointed. Smile

I'm pulling the Sho-Bud back until further notice: the great screaming ocean of red ink that my bank was describing to me earlier in the week seems not to have been an accurate accounting. Since my balance has once again skyrocketed into the three-figures echelon, I guess I'm not in the trouble I thought I was.

Glad you're not having to sell that guitar for financial reasons - that would've been tough. Great looking Bud.

Ben- I have a six figure income and three figure bank balance....if you count the decimal points!
I wonder why they thought putting all the switches on that end plate instead of between the necks was the better idea?
