I purchased this beautiful steel from one of my friend's father, along with the whole setup you see for sale. It is a Rayline pedal steel, crafted by the late Bill Ray out of Jacksonville Florida. Bill was a guitar tech for many years for the Shobud guitars, and thus, having decided at some point in his later life to begin his own guitar company, crafted his own steels in great fashion near the same design as the Shobuds. I believe this model to be a mid-2000's era. Had a buddy that plays pedal steel check it out and he confirmed it plays good. It's a beautiful flame/tiger striped maple cabinet with a greenish teal finish. Has a nice soft matching green padded armrest and the steel is an SD10, meaning it's a single neck on a dual frame, with 10 strings and the armrest. It is a 3+4 setup (3 pedals, 4 knee levers). I have very rarely seen one of these Raylines go on the market, and now that we no longer have Mr. Ray with us, they're a limited breed.

The Peavey amp is a Session 400, which is either from the mid-late 80's, or early 90's (it's definitely not from the 70's like the earlier Session 400's, from every indication that I can see visually). It has a Black Widow 15" speaker, and is in pretty good shape with normal wear (pots could use some cleaning but I'll use some electronic cleaner on them before shipping/pickup). The guitar's case is good protection, but is worn and has its fair share of wear. I will be including the Ernie Ball steel slide in its pouch with the sale; There is no volume pedal included.

Get this one while it's available! My price is $1900 and I'm pretty close to firm (NO trades), don't have to sell it but it will be a while before I intend to learn to play it, and I figured rather than hold on to it I would just make some money back for now...If separate, I am asking (also firm on the price, and no trades): The steel with case: $1600, Peavey Session 400 amp: $350. I would prefer local pickup, but if you want to pay for shipping and Paypal fees, I will agree to that transaction as well. I would also do money order transactions, but it's more advisable to do Paypal so there is some security for the buyer in place.

Email or call me at (502)208-2075. Thanks and God Bless!

Will the #10 pull rod straighten out on the undercarriage for a smoother raise on the B to C# note? What's the pickup? Probably a great sounding guitar with the way it's put together.

Hi Billy...I'm not sure what you're asking about the #10 pull rod (not even sure what that is, I'm not a player, just a newcomer with a desire to learn). I can ask my pedal steel picking friend if he can help me answer your question and get back to you as soon as possible. I don't know what kind of pickup it has, it doesn't have a name or anything on it. Thanks for the interest!

Thanks John,
I probably won't be getting up that way, I had hoped you were closer.

BTW you are in my old stompin' grounds, I played Apple Days and other venues in that area several times in years gone by.

You probably know Bob Wiley, Herman Webb, Keith Branham etc

Regards,
Bob

Yeah I noticed you're a far piece across the state now. I do know who Herman Webb is (Miss Loretta Lynn's brother), not sure about the other two. My old church was nearly right across the turnoff up towards Butcher Holler. Thanks for the interest Bob!

Billy, this is the reply my friend had to your queries:

"I would say you could change the pull rod to make that happen and im not sure about the pickup"

I don't know if that helps or not, but that's the best I can offer right now. Thanks!

This is a good playing guitar. Ive played it and it doesn't have any mechanical issues that i could find. Was fairly easy to fine tune as well.

Yep I'm gonna miss having her around, but hopefully I can find a nice one after I'm making good money and am out of college...and when I hopefully have a home of my own to have an allocated music room to keep it setting out where I just MIGHT learn to play, lol.

The amp is still available! Only sold the steel, and the reverb tank can be seen in the third photo of the amp below those photos of the steel Smile
