Hey all! My first post......here's my rundown: I've been playing for about 6 years and I've fiddled around with a few different effects setups. I'm looking for something that allows me to combine delay and chorus. I play a GFI D-10 Ultra through a Steel King (BW Speaker) and sometimes through a Cyber Twin. I've also been thinking about changing the pickups from stock. Thoughts? I play all gospel music (ranging from country Gospel to Old Country Swing style).

Thanks!

Some delay pedals have a modulation setting that can give you what I think you are looking for. Check out the Electro Harmonix stuff.

There are simpler versions also.

What I think is handy is the small effects case that Boss sells that holds three of their effect pedals.
I have one with a reverb, delay and chorus pedal in it. Very compact and neat.

The TC Electronics M-One with its dual engines will do the most for the least money and hassle, but you will need to patch it through the amp's effects loop for best results.

For the more serious gigs some brand of preset effects processor.
For weekend Band gigs hide your drink tokens, replace your pac-a-seat with a recliner, bring a lap top and hope they have Wifi. It's going to be a long nite. Laughing

Hello Caleb

Welcome aboard.
I've tried a lot of amps. But, I keep coming
back to the Peavey 1000. I, also, have a
SteelKing.
I know this is about effects. I like the Boss
DD2. I have no opinion on a chorus, but, it
sounds like others have had some good suggestions.

Steelguitar is a lifelong game---searching for
"that sound".
Good luck, in finding it.

Darrell

From this i'm asuming your kinda on the fence about the tone your getting and what your realy looking for, by all means i hope you find your tone first and let the effects just be an enhansment of what you have. MPO

Thanks for the tips all! I play only in Church really, and grew up hearing a lot of Sonny Garrish type tones on the albums we listened to. I don't like a ton of chorus, but sometimes it just adds a little. I have a limited amount of space, and I'm looking for something rack-mounted - which is getting harder and harder to find - so I have the option of using chorus and delay from the same rackspace.

Mostly I just use delay and reverb. As far as tone goes, the quest for tone never ends. I play several instruments, and I love the steel guitar a lot! I'm just now getting into the C-6 neck, and I'm just up in the air about the tone that I'm getting all the way around. I appreciate the help!

In my rack I have a Lexicon unit. It's an MPX 200 or something like that. It works out very well. I like to employ a little reverb, delay and chorus and this unit handles all three.
