I have been playing steel for a couple years now (lead guitar for 30) with probably 50 to 70 steel gigs under my belt...
Last Friday night I took 2 NV 400's along with the trans tube fex and legrande 3...
it was awesome.
I was feeling a little under the weather so I felt that my playing and enjoyment suffered because of that, but I can say that the tone and vibe were awesome.
It wasn't from being loud either.. it is the fullness and of course the stereo delay effects don't hurt either.
I am sure that this is nothing new for your more seasoned guys.. but just thought I would ramble a minute.

Hi Don:
I like using two amps or a arack in stereo with two speakers. For the most part I only play afew gigs a year now and minimal is the order of the day but in the house I have the stereo setup.

Hi Don,
Back in my playing days I always used 2 Session 500's
with a stereo delay. I always loved that sound. Now I
use a Walker Stereo Steel and the sound is really close.
Hope to see you in Mt. Vernon.

You should try a twin reverb in combination with your best sounding peavey amp. Awesome sound!
One other thing.... You've probably noticed that you need to lift the ground from one amp to get rid of the ground loop buzz you get with two amps. A better, safer way of doing this is by cutting the ground on one of the instrument cables going to one of the amps. That way, your amps will still be grounded. |
