Topic: Turning a s-10 msa sidekick pro-am into a sd-10 ? |

| What is your thought on this? The sidekick is probably worth about 750.00 . I have figured out a way to make a cute little better playing sd-10 out of mine just for the challenge. Would I be destroying a good little insturment that should be left original? I have already moved the right knee right to left knee right. Works great. Tom |

yeh Tom as you and I discussed this little axe is one of the best to convert to a different system. MATTER of fact the triple lower/raise changer is solid as msa ever made, the bellcrank system is not the best. That is what I'm doing to mine right now. Don't think I could get $750 out of mine though it only has 3 floors and 1 knee. Anybody have parts for this guitar, I'm looking.

The value is nothing to worry about then. My sidekick is solid. Somone tried to add 2 knees and made a mess. Didn't hurt the guitar at all. I just pitched the junk and starting from the original. Plays good. Putting adjustable legs on the back. I Made them from chrome mike stands. Very simple. I would love to find three of those cross members.
Are you putting a completely different system under yours?

I'd say any upgrades to a Sidekick can only help, not hurt. with modern student models having 3&4, I can't see a Sidekick/Red Baron ever being more than a marginal guitar

| Hey Lane, just what I am thinking. The pro-am does have a 3 raise and 3 lower all pull changer that makes it easy to add knee levers and pedals , unlike most student models which have a pull release changer. Tom |

Tom, I'm putting a complete chassis Carson Wells 3 floor and 5 knees under this guitar. Stripping the vinyl to the hardrock maple---goood signature. This will be the 3rd pro am i'VE MODIFIED. As I said in our conversation this msa triple lower/raise changer is as solid as a locomotive and the CW system is fantastic for this axe. Already has 710 pickup that was installed by Tommy Cass.

Tom,I'm kinda' at a standstill right now on everything. I hurt my back about 3 weeks ago and it's not recovering too well. Course I'll be 79 this Saturday and I guess it gets to be a problem making the old bod work through an injury, but I always keep a photo record of remods and I'LL POST IT when I really get started on the remod. Started to call it and upgrade but I don't think it should be called that.
