Was just curious as to who was playing for Waylon on some of his last live performances,,it sure wasn't The Moon,,even tho the man did have the Moon's sound down. |

Robby Turner played for Waylon in later years, but I don't know if that is who you are referring to. |

Robby Turner is the only guy I know of that was with Waylon after Mooney. Gotta be him. You got a video or something that we can reference to help out? |

It was definitely Robby Turner. He was in Waylon's band after Ralph left and he stayed with Waylon until Waylon died.

I played steel guitar with Waylon after Fred, and before him. Basically I turned out to be his sub while he did a 1 year long, afternoon reincarnation of "Nashville Now" which was broadcast from the atrium @ the Opryland Hotel. When the TV show ended, coincidentally so did my job.
However, Robby Turner was Hoss's last steel player, and that last band also featured Reggie Young on guitar, Bobby Emmons I believe on keyboards, along with several past
"Waylors" and alumni from the "Highwaymen" band. |

I think in about 1994 or 95 I saw a T.V. show, Waylon had a steel player named Christofferson,I believe. He was really good. I never heard of him again. Who the heck was that guy? And whatever happened to him? Thanks, Tommy........
P.S. He could really play Mooney's style.... |
