Today I received a CD from b0b - posted in California on the 13th and arrived in the UK today (17th).

Today I received an e-mail from Tom Bradshaw. In 1999 I ordered a couple of CDs from him. Somehow I got a duplicate order and I sent one package back to Tom (airmail). Tom's e-mail informed me that the CDs I returned to him arrived in California yesterday!!

As Tom said "When people refer to the postal system as "snail mail", I guess this proves that it is. It would probably have taken 6 years for a snail to make the journey (from the UK) to Concord".

At least it arrived!!

A few years ago I bought and sold a bunch of stuff through Ebay.

I sent a money-order to a seller by regular mail, it went across the U.S. in 3 days.

I sent another by priority mail because I wanted to make sure it got there quick.

It went across the U.S. in 3 weeks.

Other times, priority mail was OK, about the same as regular mail most of the time.

We sold all kinds of stuff and used regular mail to send it all over the world, everything got there in fine shape, including several boxes of antique vacuum tubes mailed to the far east.
