Rittenberry, MSA - and don't forget Doug Earnest and the Zum Encore.
There must be a few more, but it's not many.
I marvel at anyone who perseveres in serving this decidedly niche market. Supply chains are broken and, indeed, I still have a long wait for my Williams 12-string.
I spoke with Bill recently; his current problem is getting new cases! Several guitars are ready but can't be shipped.
It's encouraging to see such a reaction to the new Emmons Company's Resound '65. To launch a project in these difficult times must have been daunting. From what we hear, though, the quality of their workmanship and adherence to the original design has won the day. I don't know of anyone who hasn't got a sneaking desire to get on the waiting list (even if they can't afford one! ) |

Dang, I hadn’t thought to quantify the number of current builders in a long time. As small as this niche is…..new blood is needed or the choices for new steels is really going to dwindle as us senior citizen builders keep getting more senior!
I myself am starting to look for someone who can take over what Ed Littlefield and I have started. |

I'm surprised at how many missed Emmons.
They're making exact copies of the 1965 Wraparound Push-Pulls, with more precise parts tolerances due to improvements in machining technology over the last 57 years. They have a storefront showroom and service just about every pedal steel brand as well..
And yes - the new black ones sound better... _________________ No chops, but great tone
