I was in Jim Palenscar's shop yesterday and he showed me an old Fender Pro tuner assembly that he rebuilt. Jim has figured out a way to replace those worn out gear assemblies without having to cut slots in the pans. It's nice and clean. Bravo Jim.

That's great. On the eve of a recording session, I had a tuner on my T-8 with lollipops crap out on me. Fortunately, I had some spare guitar tuners laying around and I replaced the worm gear with one from a classical guitar set. I just needed to enlarge the opening slightly with a Dremel. Worked like a charm.
