Help with Information on Sherwood

I played a buddies Sherwood Deluxe looks like the picture below but with the Sherwood Deluxe logo (which looks very cool BTW). It has the wide pickup pictured which is different from the narrow one I have seen on most Sherwoods. To my untrained ear it sounded awesome when played through his Gibson GA-40RV amp. Anyone know anything about the Montgomery Wards marvel - who made it, who made the pickup, etc.?
