I was asked by Blackie's wife Lola to post this:

Blackie's family is throwing him a SURPRISE birthday party on May 22 at Billy B's in Riverside. It will be a Jam Session and I am inviting family, friends, musicians and students to join in.

It is just a fun time and you are invited to bring your instruments and/or sing. No gifts.

In case you aren't familiar with it, Billy B's is a restaurant and bar so 'under 21's may come as well. They have a very reasonably prices yet quality menu.

Also... Whether or not you can come, I would love for you to send him a Birthday Greeting. I have set up a special email account to gather them, just for this purpose. Anecdotes welcome !! I am going to put them all in a book for him.

Steve,
Won't Blackie see this if he reads the Forum? Whatever happens, my best birthday wishes to Blackie and best wishes to Lola. Hoped Blackie would make it back to the Ozarks this year, but may be not. Oh, well, I'll see him when I see him. Good luck.

Blackie is not a computer kind of guy so he won't see this. I've tried to get him on here for years.

Unfortunity, I'm out of town that weekend. I'd sure like to be there. Blackie's done a lot for me.

Happy Birthday Blackie! I'll never forget the fun time I had at your store in Garden Grove in 75, doing the Sho-Bud promotion with the fine band you put together! Have a great birthday! Your old Bud! Al Udeen
