The weekly Tuesday jam shows are in full swing at Catfish Johnny's Restaurant in Lake Panasoffkee, Fl. This is the same place we hold our monthly Florida Steel Guitar Club jams.

They have a fish fry dinner that starts at 10:30am and the show is noon to 3PM (and over if needed). Admission is $10. Singers get in free ($5 if they want the fish fry dinner).

We have a staff band and mostly just singers for jam participants. This is the 13th year for my wife, rhythm guitar, and me on steel in the staff band. Bernie Waldon, Bass is 11 years; Cal Akers, lead guitar is 15 years and Karl Congdon, drums, is 5 years.

The owner, "Catfish" Johnny Galvin knows many in the industry and we get many "name" guests during the winter. Last week it was Joe and Jan Edwards (Joe was the staff fiddle player on the Opry for many years). This week, George Hamiltion, IV was there and did about 30 minutes and also stuck around for the final song. Bobby Bare is a frequent visitor as he comes to Lake Panasoffkee in the winter to fish. We've had many others including Jack Greene, Tommy Cash, David and Alan Fizzell and many others. We never know who is going to show up on Tuesday.

The shows are every Tuesday from the first Tuesday in November to the last Tuesday in April. (Our Florida Steel Guitar Club Jams are the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM).
