I've just recently joined the forum.Have played psg for 30 years.I play a 1979 sho-bud ldg, through a N1000 and a digitech studio affects unit, standard E/9th tuning and Day pedal/knee setup.I have played this same guitar for 22 years and have never had a problem with it.Although it is showing signs of small parts wear its been good to me.As embarrassing as it is to say,I cant read music, tab and really couldn't tell you one note from another.I'm self taught, look, listen and learn method. It's through the information on this forum and you guys that I plan to change all this as you all seem very willing to help others.this is what prompted me to join this forum.IT'S A GOOD THING !!!

Welcome aboard Scott. You'll find this to be a living encyclopedia of of information. I often spend time in searches of the earlier pages picking up tidbits not covered in the current pages. Again, welcome aboard, glad you're here. |

Jerry,
I apologize if I have mislead you.I do tractor restorations for other folks.I have a 1977 ford ranger F-150 and a 1984 camaro that I have restored for myself.
I would like to have a vintage tractor but they are well out of my price range.I do this as side work for a little extra cash.I enjoy doing this sort of thing though and that is why I listed it as an interest.
By the way, have you spoke with Wimpy recently,I heard he has put out a CD called MY VERY BEST FOR YOU.

I see. Good sideline. I used to enjoy messing with old cars, but not much any more.
I haven't talked to Wimpy in over a year, I guess. I think he played our steel club around that time, but I missed him.
Yes, I know he has a nice CD out and some really good instructional material as well.
Cheers. JO. |

Hope you and yours are OK after the tornadoes that came through Tues AM. I noticed the warning block included Bedford. I'm hoping Wimpy and all my friends up that way are OK too.
Sirens going off around from all surrounding FD's. One F0 or F1 touched town just a mile or so from here.
My brother, who live across the street, saw me coming back from the store came over and said we needed to go to shelter at his basement. We were just on the edge and spared....again....for the 3rd of 4th time in recent history.
Crazy weather. 62 and tornadoes to 30's and snow flurries all in an 8 hr. period. So far, at least 5 confirmed tornadoes in the area. |

Jerry,
Thank you for the concern.Sounds like you and yours came through o.k. Glad to hear that.It was pretty crazy here for a while.heard that a tornado passed south of bedford but not confirmed.
I work 3rd shift at Indiana University. It rough drive home ,60mph winds raining so hard you couldn't see 10ft in front of you.About 6 car lengths in front of me a tree had blown over into the street, onto an oncoming car.The driver seriously injured and later passed away at the hospital. He also worked at the university.terrible morning.Again Thank You

Scott, I have played Mullen guitars since 1995. I've owned 3 of them and currently have a '96 or 7 original model D10. I also play an older D10 Zum and I'm experimenting with alt. tunings on an old Emmons SS-8.
Others I've owned and enjoyed: Emmons p/p, Derby, Sierra, Williams, Sho-Bud all D10 but the Sierras were 14 unis.
I was taught piano early in life, but I've forgotten most of it. Don't keep up much. Also some guitar, slide guitar, lap steel, dobro and bass. Not very good on any of it, but I love it all.
Got my first MSA Red Baron in '76 or 77.
I listen to and play many styles of music from the 30's & 40's through the present decade.
My experiences aren't very exciting, I'm afraid. I've played pedal steel in everything from joints to churches.... bluegrass, rhythm and blues, gospel, mass, rock and even country.
One of my highlights was playing a jamboree show with Johnny Lee while Wade Hayes was touring with him back in the early 90's. |
