I just got a restored MSA 12 string with George L HB pickup. It tends to feedback sometimes when I have to sit close to the amp. I use a modeling amp so I can write programs for it but this is annoying. Any solutions? Is this unique to my rig or have others experienced this? Sometimes you are right smack in front of the amp on a little bandstand. Thanks for any input.

Does your amp have any kind of remote control like a foot controller?? If it does, you can move it far enough away so that it doesn't feed back and use the remote. You might even get somebody to build a small one one with hand operated controls that can be mounted on the leg of your steel.

Thanks. I do have a floorboard and volume pedal. The problem is tight stages where I am literally stuck 2 ft from the amp. And it's kind of a loud band. I have a BMI with a GL pup and it never feeds back. Made me think maybe the MSA 12 has a bum pup or something. What would have been original in a '77 MSA?
