Emmons Pickup

I have a Mullen D-10 Royal Precision with standard Mullen pickups. Guitar sounds great. John Hughey told me many years ago the reason he had Emmons pickups on all his different guitars was he was able to hit the "Sweet Spot" he was looking for. And as we all know, his playing was unmatched for that sound. My question is, has anyone on the forum installed Emmons pickups on the Royal Precision and if so, tell me all about it.
