Trying to help my guitar player out with his setup. I know we got some very knowledgeable Tele pickers and utility players on this forum, so I thought I'd come here for some advice. Smile

I guess I'll start by telling you what he's working with, see what y'all think is the best way, or the way you would set it up.

He's got decent gear as far as his guitar and amp go. A stock 60th anniversary American Tele, and a a newer 3rd gen. Hotrod DeVille 2x12. His effects box's, not so much, but they'll get him by.

He's running a newer TU-3 Boss stomp tuner, an H20 Echo/chorus, a Dynacomp, a nano EH Small Stone phaser, and an EH nano Muff overdrive.

He only uses the clean channel on the Deville, using the Muff on occasion for leads and such, where a little overdrive is needed.

Thanks in advance for your help!!
Very Happy

I'd put (actually I do that!) all preamp processors between guitar and amp and the modulation/delay effects in the amp fx loop (send/return).

So, in your case:

Guitar -> TU-3 -> Dynacomp -> Muff -> amp IN

and then

amp fx send -> phaser -> H2O -> amp fx return

IMHO... Smile

Yup.Gain-based effects in the front;time-based effects in the loop.

If only using the clean channel, I'd just run everything before the amp (its what I do)..putting a gtr level device in a loop putting out line level might be a problem, as well.

Gtr - tuner - comp - OD - phaser - H2O is what I'd most likely recommend. A good power supply and George L patch cords.
