I just bought a new lexicon mx 400. I have it routed from the effects send on my steel king to input A left of the lexicon. Then from the output A left of the lexicon to the return of my steel king. My steel is routed from my volume pedal to the input on the front of the steel king. The lexicon works but it has a loud hum in my amp. I can pull the lexicon out of the chain and my amp is quite as a mouse. What have i done wrong or how can i get rid of this hum ?

Jerry, Try putting a 2 prong ground lift plug on the Lexicon. One has to be ungrounded. Hope that works. Jim

Hi Jerry,
I've got the Lexicon MX300. Dead quiet.

Mine is wired as yours (E-Looped) only to the front Pre EQ jacks of a Peavey Nashville 112. This makes it a Pre Eq effect.

BTW: I hope one of our seasoned vets chime in, because I could be wrong here.

Yours may be a Post EQ effect on the Fender. That may be causing the noise.
Try running the guitar to the 'In' of the Lexicon and the 'Out' to the input of the amp, not using the effects loop. I think this will make it a pre-EQ effect.

Talked to one of the lexicon's techs today about my problem. Told me how to reset it, didn't help. Said to ship it back to Musicians friends. UPS picking it up asap and will have a new one in the mail as soon as M.F.s has the tracking number. No more than 5 or 6 days.

Jerry,
When I bought my MX300 it wasn't a money issue over the MX400.
I was willing to spring for the 400, but was told that the 400 was a wall wart and the 300 was hard wired and the hard wired feature would aid in a no noise situation.

Lexicon might trade you for the MX300 because of this issue.

Gary my 400 was hard wired. I should receive a new one by the end of next week. If it has a hum in it I will ship it back too and look at other options.
