With all these beautiful steels posted lately ... I figured I'd spill some beans ...

I had hoped to someday return to building "production" stuff again ... It now seems to be sooner than later.

And though the prototype is still being tested ... I though I'd let my old Forum Friends know that a completely new & unique pickup is close at hand.

A radically new concept ... loosely based on the old MRI Jason Lollar and I did years ago ... incorporating ideas that I developed with my latest "New Style" Horseshoes (that only two folks have) ... The Portal (which one 1 guy has) ... The Fountain (I think 3 are out there) ... and the Potbelly (with were well received).

The usual suspects are involved ... 38 gauge AWG magnet wire & Neodymium-Iron-Boron ... with a few new cast members.

All in a handsome unit ... 1.25" and 1.5" wide ... 6 - 12 strings ...

I even bought an Alumitone Tone-Bar 10 string PSG unit to put up against it in tests (they seem popular these days with PSG players) ... as well as the usual time proven units (Rickys, Fenders, etc)

Pictures to come ... once I get a pretty one made up ...

By far the strongest unit I ever made ... Completely uniform across all strings ...

Stay Tuned (Just Intonation of Course) ...

Happy holidays ... and I'm hoping to have something real exciting for some of you ... in the early part of the new year

Mr. Green

Rick, first of all, I'm so happy that you're feeling up to doing it. I knew they keep couldn't keep you down for long. You da man!

Second, I'll bet these ideas have been kicking around in your head for a long time. Glad to hear they are going to come to fruition. I need some more Aiello tone!

The General & Two Colonels have always led their troops into battle ... Laughing

It's been the infrastructure that had failed ... But it's being stabilized to the point that vital "pickup construction" can be resumed.

I hope your Festivus activities went well ... And the remaining holiday season is filled with happiness , joy and safety ... Mr. Green

All the tests are complete ... and one that is "finished" is almost finished ... Winking

Should have it mounted on one neck of my "Boobpan" (double neck 8 string cast steel) this weekend.

I'm going to call it ... The "CoilSurround" Humbucker ... Mr. Green
