Hey all,
While I may never be good at this @*(# instrument, I sure do enjoy banging my head against it. I recently posted my first tune on the pedal steel. No, I don't think it's actually "good" but I think it's not too sucky either. So I'd call that progress. Enjoy (or don't)!
Thanks and Happy New Year to you all!

Hi Elliott,
You're not alone. I'm sure a lot of us don't play as well as we'd like to. Sounds to me like you're getting the hang of it. I like your tone. What are you playing on and through?

Hey Lynn,
Thanks so much for listening and your words of encouragement. I'd like to think I'm getting the hang of it, albeit slooooowly.
I do think the tone is decent, even where all else might not be. I'm actually playing a student model Dekley, 3 peds and just ONE knee (!!!) and playing it directly into Logic via GuitarRig plugin (a little delay, a little verb). Am hoping to either add KLevers to this guitar or trade up to something better, but I must admit, as this is the only PSG I've ever played, I've grown quite fond of it.
Again, thanks for listening/commenting.
Best,
El |

So sorry, I just saw the announcement at top that I should have posted this in Steel on the Web section of the forum. Sorry b0b, sorry all. May I ask that this thread (however unimportant) be moved there?
Thanks, my bad, etc.... |

I would say that your on the right track. Recording your self and listening to it is a great learning tool. Get your self some tracks to play along with. Try to practice every night if you can. _________________ 78 Emmons PP,Great tone.82 Emmons SKH #56 |
