In a previous thread Barbara Mandrell's playing was brought up. I wish I could have gone to one of her concerts, she played everything, Steel Guitar, 6 string standard with 2 other players, fiddle, banjo, and I'm sure more. I knew she played all these I didn't know she was playing Steel Professionally at 12. Hope you enjoy.

As talented as Barbara is, the #1 thing that got her national exposure and success is her singing, not her playing of Instruments. That is an asset for a stage show not for selling records.

She is a "great" singer as well as a fine musician. She deserves all the success she acquired.

Now think Wanda Vick, I happen to think she is one of the overall best multiple instrument players in the business, but she really can't sing a lick...and has no TV show...barely has records, but I can tell you this, the ones she has are friggin great !
