Ron,
Vitrolite glass panels were used as exterior paneling on buildings in the 1920's-30's. According to Wikipedia, it hasn't been made in the USA since the 40's. This slide was probably recycled from a broken piece of paneling. They aren't hard to make. Just shape the slide and fire polish the edges. Glass is a little soft to use as a slide with today's stainless or alloy strings. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |

Thanks for chiming in, Crowbear. Those were better examples than Wikipedia had.
I'm playing around with some quartz bars, but they aren't ready for prime time yet. Quartz bars are much harder than glass. _________________ 1974 Marlen S-12 1968 Tele 1969 Martin D-35H |

Howard ... Only in regards to steel bars
Anyway ... It is very nice ....
Not as quiet as the Tribotone ... About like one of my steel flattes that I coated with Acraglass (gun bedding) ...
But a very unique and well done piece ...
Happy New Year , Y'all ...
PS: Worked all day on my new pickup ... |
