Wishing all a Happy Steeling New Year...good playing and good picking.
I heard several great versions of this tune while at a recent guitar festival in the UK, that made me appreciate it all the more. My fav tune of all time, hopeful to have done some justice to it here. May have posted an earlier version, but then...this is an evergreen...

Very nice job. I think this is a good time to compare the Leavitt Tuning version with yours. The only main difference is that with the Leavitt, you can play more full chords instead of single notes.

When Jeff Au Hoy was the guest at Joliet, in 2004, he opened his set with that tune. Seems like some old timers & pros felt bit threatened after that one !

Roger, I used the A6 tuning with the fifth on top (FAC#EFAC#E).
Mike, your version is quite gorgeous, as also the splendid backing to frame your performance. I do not know much about Leavitt as I tend to standardize on the major 6th tunings but your version was interestingly rich in chord harmony.
Jerry Byrd did a version too on C6 in his own inimitable style. Unfortunately it got, and remains, mis-labelled on his CD and the databases associated. He once played it for me and my wife on request at the "House Without a Key" at the Princess Halekulani in Waikiki, but more in the style of the standard, which I liked better than his CD version. If anyone knows of any other actual steel guitar recordings of this tune, I should be pleased to know of them.
I got a vinyl LP for Christmas from my son with 14 different versions of "Stardust".
