Larry, this sounds so good. I mean not only the steel, but the whole performance. Was it a whole band playing?
Anyway thanks for sharing these, and happy holidays for you! _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I appreciate your taking the time to reply.
Joachim - this year's track is a Band-in-a-Box track that included piano, upright bass, drums, and the trombone solo track. I just used what was there. I never spend more than 4 or 5 hours on one. Some of the other tracks from previous years were off the web -- somewhere. There's a guy who has full band arrangement midi files of a bunch of Vince Guraldi stuff -- like the Charlie Brown Christmas songs -- that are VERY well done -- like 'O Christmas Tree' and 'Christmas Time is Here'. The various parts -- especially the piano -- are often note for note from the soundtrack. Fun playing with stuff like that. Guraldi was a genius. Some of the other rhythm tracks were from Band-in-a-Box as well.
Thanks Brian & Dean. Dean, I'll see you Saturday at the Charlie McCoy show.
SteveT - it warms my heart to know that people all over the world are enjoying these great tunes. Thank you for sharing them. It was my honor to interpret them. I just got an email from a young bass player I used to work with who moved away. He told me that he and his wife play the CD I gave him of those tunes while his daughters open their presents. His daughters ask for it every year. Stuff like that makes the effort worthwhile. Nahhh -- it's not that big an effort in the first place.

I don't have a clue, John. It's just a link to a file stored on my web host's server. On my WinXP machine I can play the files using both Firefox and IE.
You might try right clicking the link above and storing the mp3 to your desktop and playing it from there. Just a thought.
Let me know if you don't resolve the issue and I'll send you the stuff on CD. _________________ Larry Bell - email: larry@larrybell.org - gigs - Home Page

Glad that worked, John
Bill -- hope things aren't too cold up there in Michigan. I did my 32 years in purgatory.
Bobby D -- thanks, bud. Glad you're still enjoying 'em.
Merry Christmas y'all and, if Mama DOES kiss Santa, I AIN'T A TELLIN'.
