I learned the hard way. Sold all my steels and sold one of my fiddles for 15.00 a few years ago. I had bought it in Ca.back in the 50s. Read in the news today where a girl left her violin on a bus when she got off. It is still missing. It was an Eberley. Thats what the one was that i sold. I had no idea it was worth over 170K. I had been told it was an Eberley by a violin shop some time back it was an Eberly and valuable which i didn't pay much attention to and had forgot about it until reading the article in the paper today.
