I ran across this interview from Premiere Guitar Magazine, --- Don't move it yet - Robert Randolph , is a pedal guy --- BUT --- Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

This interview covers a lot of good information about the Lap Steel aspect that is now on the minds of lap converts as well as some of us old foggie full time NON Pedal Players too.

He talks about his Lollar Pickups , Asher Guitar - Volume - Wah Wah - Fuzz - custom boxes - Amps he grabbed from Jeff Beck.

Basically No focus on the pedal steel part of things and more on the NON Pedal things All the while hitting some pretty hot licks as he chats with the interviewer.

Just saw your post, George, after I posted a link to this over in "Steel Players".
It's a great little interview. I played some shows with RR at Wetlands in NYC when he was first getting started with the Family Band. He's got a lot more attitude now!

On some of his videos on YouTube the only pedal he is using is a wah-wah pedal so I think we do need to consider him to be a non-pedal steel player as well as a pedal steel player. Or lets just call it steel guitar. In any event over the past 10 years he has brought Sacred Steel and his own brand of steel guitar soul/funk to the attention of the general public.

Thanks for posting the interview!
