My friend Paul Warnik called tonight to say that steel guitar great Dusty Nall passed Thursday evening. He was a member of The Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association and a great player.

Services will be Monday April 27.

Sorry friends-I know I have been away from Forum for awhile-Thanks T.C. for the post
Dusty's last visitation was attended by many friends and local longtime musicians-His trusty MSA was set up next to His casket with His pack-a-seat-On the seat was a sign that said "This Seat Reserved For Dusty" and rightfully so-I don't know anyone else who could play His copeedent in His unique style-PW

Hello Pedal Steel Players!
I am Karen Nall, daughter of the late Dusty Nall of Joliet, IL who passed away in April 2009.

First, let me thank you all for the wonderful things mentioned aboout my Dad on this forum. I joined the Forum because I am hoping to meet people who knew my Dad. I know he traveled alot in his early years and played and met some wonderful people. I know he treasured everyone he met.

It is my mission to keep his music and legacy alive!
I only wish I would have done this for him while he was still with us.

I created a website dedicated to him at http://www.DustyNall.com

If anyone knew him, played with him, or have a story to share - I would be most grateful.

Thank you - and "keep on pick'n!"
Karen

You've done a great job on the website Karen. I first met your dad in the late 60s. He was a super nice guy, and I've always considered him my friend for those forty plus years. That video on “The Man” page of the website is classic Dusty.

Hi George,
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking a look at the website I created for my Dad. I am meeting so many wonderful people who knew Dad - no wonder he loved his musician friends so much. What a great "family" you all are! We always joked because although Mom and Dad were together for 47 years....we knew how Dad felt about his music life...and if he ever left my Mom, it would be for a Pedal Steel player! Laughing Please know he truly loved and appreciated everyone of his friends very much.
Thank you again for your kindness and for being a part of my Dad's life!
Karen Nall
