Hi all,

a friend's uncle is looking to sell a Fender 2000 but it has no legs, pedals, or pedal board. How realistic is it to imagine finding replacements?
Thanks,
Dan

Jim Sliff has a pedal board for sale that might work. The pedals will be the hardest to find. (Especially 10 of them.)

As a Fender 400 owner/player, I think that it would be easier to find a buyer for what you have as parts than to get a complete working guitar together. The Fender Steel Forum is at

Just to be clear,

I don't have this: haven't even laid eyes on the thing--just collecting info for a friend.

I'm hoping to stumble on the same thing for a 2000 body I have. Very Happy

Dave, I'm looking at your avatar, and I think you should stop looking for those parts: don't you know German Shepherds can't operate pedals???

Laughing

So if he can't replace the missing parts, anyone wanna suggest what he should expect to get for his 2000 as is?

If it's in good shape around $450 would be fair. I bought mine for that much. I actually have another complete 2000. My reason for the purchase of the body was to not only to get parts to repair my other one but also to make a S-10 on a double body. As much as I love the beast it's too heavy to tote around to gigs. I threw my back out for a week just moving it across the room. So know I will have the option of D-10 or lighter S-10.

Last winter I threw my back out shoveling off my roof. This year I installed melting cables on the roof. That's a sign that I'm getting smart(er).

Very Happy

Easiest way out is to have a steel guitar builder make you the legs, and a modern pedal rack and pedals. I doubt you would pay much less for original fender parts.
Any number of builders would probably do it for you, using parts they have on hand... bob
