We want to thank everyone involved for helping make the NE IA Steel Guitar Jam a success this past weekend--pretty much standing room only Saturday! The audience was treated to some really great music by Scotty, Herby, Russ & Laney, and 33 regional players. The House Band did a super job too (Roger Miller, Glenn Runnels, Jeff Isaac, and Harry Lange).
'Oh Waiter'(Craig), I forgot to thank you for your fine performance singing "Miss Susan Brown." ...lefty

The organizers, players, and house band at the NE Iowa Jam in Waterloo are absolutely top-notch! It's darn near impossible NOT to have a good time at Waterloo. The only bad part about the Jam is knowing that I'll have to wait 52 weeks for the next one!

Thanks to all for a fine weekend!

This was my first time at the Waterloo Jam and I had a good time. It was nice seeing Scotty and Mary again and meeting Russ and Laney Hicks. The ride home wasn't at fun. Hit dense fog, snow and rain for about 60 miles but finally made it home safe and sound.

As a recently added member of the NEISGJ organizational committee, I want to thank Scotty, Herby, Russ and Laney for headlining this annual event. It gets bigger and better every year, thanks to the featured talent and area talent. The comraderie speaks for the success of such an event. If anyone hasn't attended one of the many Steel Jams around the country, please do so. You'll have the rare opportunity to hear these "sidemen" (and ladies) play (and sing) in an atmosphere of appreciative musicians and music lovers. The freedom that they have to perform to their highest level is certainly not contained in any way. And you have the opportunity to mingle with them throughout the weekend. These Steel Jams throughout the country are becoming more popular every year.
And don't forget to attend the "International Steel Guitar Convention" in St Louis every year. Hosted by the musician that started it all, Dewitt Scott and his family.
Thanks Again,
Dennis Detweiler

What a great weekend!! This was my second year as a NEISGJ Board member (I had to fill Craig's boots and they are BIG!) I had an opportunity to visit with many musicians and music lovers from all over the U.S. Lefty was right when he said "At NEISGJ, no one is a stranger". Fantastic pickers and networking.....just can't beat it. Thanks all for making this a huge success and a place for steel players, other musicians and music lovers to appreciate each other.
