Just finished watching the youtube clip of Clinton Gregory on Nobody's Darling. Ron played as pretty as it could be played. Has Ron ever done it as an instrumential? My friend Clyde Mattocks has and it was beautiful.
Clinton, Rhonda Hart and Ron did a great job on a great song. Ron's tone and movements were just great. Great fills and great KO and great turn also. JUST GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember that show being taped at Twitty City in Hendersonville Tn back in I think the late 1980s. Ron sat in on my steel for Clinton's set. Played like he had owned it for years.
One of the greats indeed!

Ronald does have a touch, doesn't he? And he's a gentleman, a true and trusted friend.

I've always admired Mr. Ron's traditional country, smooth pedal steel playing.

I have always like Ron's playing. I never got to see him much, but what I saw just blew me away. His part on the "Operation Russless" DVD is to die for. He has the beat harmonics of anyone I have ever heard, bar none (pun intended).

I also learned that Ron is the steelman who does the Blue Highway station break tunes..his tone on those great songs is the best I've heard..I believe he is playing a Derby on some of the songs..not sure what amp he's using but it does not get any better.

Hey Ron,
Playing so beautifully as you do, receiving accolades as you do from fellow steel players, giving a heartfelt embrace and kiss to a loving wife makes you a role model for us all. Ron, you're one of a kind!

I don't think your original question was actually answered.

Ron has "Nobody's Darlin'" on his CD "Golden Hits and Scarlet Ribbons".

Jerry, you know I'm always ready for S&B, they are sooo good, especially when the berries are fresh, ripe, and cold.....the biscuits fresh, soft, brown, and right out of the oven. Open that biscuit up, berries on the bottom layer, berries on the top, and maybe a little spoon-full of fresh whipped cream... "Ya-Ha!"
Now, when are we going to do this? Jerry, that's just good food. I remember how well you liked it too.
You take care,my friend,..Merry Christmas, and I wish for you and yours the Happiest of New Years.

Mr. Elliott is smooth as it comes!
Hey Ron, i still use the lick ya showed me in Saluda almost everytime i play.

Hey guys, i was behind the wall in Saluda just noodling and Ron walked by and said, "Now slide back and lower that fifth string a half note and let it off coming back to the one."

Change the whole lick i was playin and i used it when i played "I won't mention it again" that day! Whoa!

Thx Ron for the time and becoming one of my good friends!! All the best!....kenny
