I have never put a Truetone in a Rains, but I do know the Rains requires a wide-mount pickup.

My Rains has a Trutone, and it is lovely. Don't know if it is wide or narrow....I bought the Rains from Buck Hammock, you could ask him how it changed the sound...

I tried a True Tone in my D-10 Rains and finally wound up using the BL710. The 710 is a lot bright but the True Tone sounded good.--Henry

That is the pickup up used by tone-monster JD Maness.

What is it about the Tonealigner that doesn't appeal to you. I always thought that they would be uber-adjustable
