Hi,
a few nights ago I expanded the copedent on my E9th neck, adding a FP on pedal 4 (working together with 2 pulls on C6th neck) and a Eb to E change on second string (together with 7th and 1st string changes).
Everything seemed to be working great.

Last night I realized that my modified LKR, before reaching the G# on 1st string and the E on 2nd, has sort of feel stop around the half of its travel.
I was going to fix the problem while I realized that... I don't really know if it's a real problem!

At the stop position my first string is a G (perfectly in tune!) and the second is still a Eb.

Considering that many copedents have no "E" change on 2nd string and a F# to G on first... what do you suggest me?
Fix the problem or enjoy one more combination?

Gianni,
What I first read as a problem might not have been one after all. I edited so as not to confuse the issue.
You have re-built that old MSA into a thing of beauty!

It sounds like it's just the same kind of feel stop most guitars have on the second string lower. If you want to eliminate that "hitch," speed up the first string a bit and slow down the second.
I'd recommend doing that, as that raise sounds best when they move together

Hi Gianni,

I just checked mine, I've had the, string 1&2 raise on my steel for a while now, but hadn't looked at other then pulling both up to pitch. Mine is doing the same thing. The first string pulls up 1/2 tone, before the 2nd string starts to raise. It seems to be timed perfectly for the change to be in tune. The half stop is light & easy to over shoot, but it is there and I think is a usable change. Sounds pretty, pick 1&2, raise the 1st string a half step, then 1 a whole and 2 a half. Nice. I'm going to leave mine as it is.

Huh. I wonder which is standard? when I put my 1&2 raise on, I timed it so they'd move together like a bar slant, because it seemed like the right sound. But I already raise to G with the 6th string G#-F#.
I'm contemplating raising 7 to G# and 9 to E on the same move (p0 in my case)

As Dick says, I think I may like that stop!!
That's why I am evaluating leaving it that way.
The feel stop is smooth and nice. Easy to stop, easy to get across.
I am just amazed noticing that what I found out as a problem to be fixed may become a nice feature.
I just need to learn what to play with it Very Happy Razz

Nope, 5 pulls. Three on E9th neck, two on C6th.
A lil' bit stiffer than I hoped, and yet less than I expected.
I will look under the skirt (Razz) and re-check anything but I don't think I may get it that much smoother. After all, we're talking about 5 pulls on a single pedal....
Suggestions?

Gianni,
Judging by the nice refinish job you did, and the set-up, I am sure things are a smooth as possible under that skirt!
