All pull Marlen SD-10 3 and 5 with Emmons set-up. It is woodgrain mica and in excellent condition. Case is also in good condition. Just bought a new guitar and one has to go. This guitar has a great sound that I like. The bass strings have plenty of bass in them and highs are high. You will not be disappointed in looks or sound of this guitar. Price is $1200.00. I will offer sell of guitar in order of contacts!! Look forward to selling someone another wonderful steel guitar. You can contact me on forum or at johnny.howington@yahoo.com

The serial number would make this a 1984 model, not a 1995. (Read the last 4 digits backwards.) Was the guitar rebuilt and the changer changed in 1995?

Check on serial number to see what a D-10 would be. This guitar was a D-10 converted to a SD-10. It was like this when I got it. Not sure of the history of the guitar. That's the only number I saw under guitar. I would be glad to see what I could find out for you. Are you interested in the guitar?

Johnny,
If it was a 12 string I would definitely be interested. I have a 1974 S12 pull-release Marlen that needs updating, so an all-pull changer would be an improvement.

The Marlen serial numbers were not too reliable. They might show the number of pedals and levers, or just the number of that style of guitar made. It appears that the pedal rack was changed, since a D-10 would have had more than 3 pedals.

yes sir IT has a new pedal rack and new pedals on it. Not sure how serial numbers worked but this guitar looks great and sounds great. For the money its a deal. If I had not found a ZumSteel SD-10 that I have been looking for this guitar would not be for sale. All I have left is my Black LeGRande 11 D-10 and now this SD-10 ZumSteel so I'm gonna be out of the steel business after I sell this one. Good luck finding your 12 string. Wish you could see and hear this guitar. Have a nice day.

Man I bought this guitar from sent me an email stating that this is a 1995 year model guitar. Sorry for any confusion. First Marlen I ever bought.

Isn't this the same Marlen that was for sale by Glen Porter earlier this month? If so, how come you're turning it around so quickly?

Right after I bought this guitar, I saw a ZumSteel like I have been looking for for past year. I had the opportunity to buy one so I did. Had I known I was going to find one the next day I would not have purchased this guitar. There is nothing wrong with this guitar but I don't need three. Ask the man I bought it from if anything is wrong with it. All I have done to this guitar is fix pad (replaced bolts under pad) And replaced a small screw in pick-up to hold it in place properly, adjusted pic-up and tuned it. Other than that I have just been playing it. Sorry if I have given wrong impression of this guitar by selling it so quickly. It's a nice guitar for the money. Sounds as good as most I have owned. Are you interested in the guitar?

possibly, but like you I need to move some finances around to make it happen. Reason I noticed this in the first place is I was interested when Glen was selling it. Thanks for the clarification ; I'll let you know if I can pull this off.

I can assure you ANYTHING Johnny has is in nearly pristine condition. All of his gear is in immaculate condition to say the least, and to say well cared for is an understatement. If I were buying something from Johnny, I would be ok buying it sight unseen!! He's a great guy to deal with.
