Carlos is doing the Mambo with Mrs. Mannicotti! This is classic American culture.

You know the "Hucklebuck" was ripped off from Charlie Parker's "Now's The Time".

`Listen to the record and be gay`? I'll just listen to the record. Another good word hi-jacked. Sad

The Hucklebuck is a cool tune, and that episode is classic - there are great comedians, but to me, nobody has topped the combo of Gleason and Carney to this day. Their timing was perfection and they really did just go 'out there'.

Although the chorus line does resemble part of the head for "Now's the Time", I always associated that kind of riff with military bugle calls. The Hucklebuck is also standard-issue for jump-blues bands, frequently working off a 60s version by the king of Chicago blues guitar, Earl Hooker.

Hooker's version - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quI4sFf1BtE

Great Junior Watson version, swingin' his butt off with Canned Heat, late 80s - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmVwLY035Kg
