Over the years, certain instruments have changed from a longer to a shorter scale length.
What do you suppose was the reasoning for this ?

And, in your opinion, do certain tunings sound better on a guitar with a longer scale ? How about a shorter one ?

I'm seriously entertaining the idea of building a triple neck with 3 different scale necks.

If you do a lot of slants, shorter scale is easier. If not, longer scale will yield more sustain I believe. A triple with 22.x, 24.x, 26 would be interesting.

22 x 24 x 26 are exactly what I was thinking.
Also, 3/8" string spacing at the nut and bridge (ala Murph)
