Late 1930s/early 1940s Epiphone Zephyr 6-string lap steel in ohsc. s/n 28xx. As oddly European as those tuner buttons look, the tuners appear to be original and unreplaced. One replaced control knob. Pickup mounting nuts (brass) may be replacements for thumbscrews...or I may thinking of Rickenbachers... Peghead badge (slightly smaller than original) is a brass repro from the 90s import amplifiers. Has the Miessner Patents badge on the back and I assume the brown panels are original. $320 shipped in the USA incl. paypal & b0b.

I have that exact guitar, but a 7-string. I found it in a Fresno pawn shop back in 1972 for $45.
I don't think those are the original tuners though. Mine has the same tuners as their guitars....mine has carved buttons w/ the Epiphone "E" stamped on the gear housing. I'll try and post some pix. |
