If you don't mind coming about 1 hr. southwest of the city, we have a country jam every Sat. nite from 8-12pm. at the Black Diamond Hotel. The band is always good and there's always a steel player  Me! Come straight south on Hwy 2 to Okotoks then west on Hwy 7 for 15 min. Beautiful drive. |

Seems like the places that used to have live country music every night don't.
I do notice that on December 6th at the Ironwood (http://ironwoodstage.ca) the James Murdoch Band, with Nathan Carroll on lead and pedal steel, is playing, and that Nathan is on the bill in his own right. Highly recommended - please give Nathan and James my regards if you go. I've played the Ironwood a few times, and they get good acts there - if you look at the calendar there is lots of interesting looking stuff. I noticed that Steve Pineo is playing there at some point - monster guitar player. The Ironwood is very central as well, and I recall that the burgers are good.
