Here 'tis a rendition of Amazing Grace on a new 10 String Jackson Blackjack. This guitar is as sweet as they come. David & Harry out did themselves on this one. It also has my 10 string E 6/9 Tuning with 5 pedals and 5 knees. More about that later in future threads.
Just so you all know, the tone you will hear is right from the guitar. I use a Matchbox and a Boss Digital Reverb going into the amp. From there I have a Neuaman microphone on the amp and it goes right into Pro Tools. I have added no post EQ or effects whatsoever.

I had the opportunity in St. Louis back in 1992 and I introduced myself to Zane and his wife. Very nice people and a super steel player then.
I purchased a book of tabs from Zane and I thought that I would learn to play some of the things in the book, but somewhere between St. Louis and Friendswood, Tx. ; I lost it.
If I can remember it right, Zane was doing some traveling as an Avangelist and working for the lord. I lost contact with him and now he has showed up lately in the Nashville area. I thought that he was a great player then, but he must have been practicing along the road, he has become even greater.
Hopefully, we will get a chance to see him at the Dallas show; He deserves it............. |

Thankin y'all for the comments!!!
Yes, Tommy I am in Nashville and have been growing toward 20 years. I actually did not play much steel for many years. I spent most of my time in the Christian Music world producing records amongst other things. I am a very blessed man for sure. It's good to be back at the steel guitar. I don't know that I am a better steel guitarist but I do know the years have seasoned me somewhat as a musician. Plus, I always have felt that I should play from my heart not my head. I think that comes through in some of what I do.
Stay tuned,

Bob D. - It is a pretty thing huh? This particularly model from Jackson really is my favorite.
George - Thanks friend. No matter what I play on a steel guitar the goal is always to have the listener experience the emotion I am playing with.
Stay Tuned,

Charlie, I will have to work on the "The Lighthouse". I have sang that song many times. I'm not sure how well the verse melody will translate instrumentally. The chorus would be killer though. _________________ Zane King

I spoke yesterday with David Jackson of Jackson Steel Guitars. He told me to keep making this beautiful music on his instruments.
I plan to be with the Jackson Steel Guitar at the Texas Steel Show in March. I hope to see a bunch of you there. _________________ Zane King

Zane,
I have had enough trouble "trying" to learn the standard copedant.....That's some mighty fine playing . That tuning key drop....I've seen jazz guitarists do that...very cool...very out of the box. _________________ D.S. Rigsby |
