CORRECTION As pointed out by Marc Jenkins
not that much of the book is available for viewing:
Cover
Pages 1 & 2
Pages 24-46
Pages 57-59
When I first looked at this link yesterday there was a table of contents visible and it looked like most of the book was available for viewing. In any case there is a lot of information about their lap steel guitars.

A few years ago only a small number of pages of "The History of Rickenbacker Guitars" were available for viewing (although fortunately for us those pages included their steel guitars through 1950.) I guess they figured that no one would be interested in that old sh*t!
However when I just checked it again it looks like most of the book can be viewed except for the very popular guitars and basses (you gotta buy the book for that.)
I love reading about these old companies- how they came to be, etc.

Richard sent me a gratis copy when it was finally available, with his sig and a funny aside about not having anything of my Magnatone's in it, it's always been a favorite. He was visiting Leo Fender near daily in his last years and kept me info'd, good guy. |

I just rechecked and I see that it is still limited to pages 1 to 59- well those are the pages that we are interested in here anyway- right?
I have no idea why your preview only goes up to page 25.

" For in-print books where permission has been granted, the number of viewable pages is limited to a "preview" set by a variety of access restrictions and security measures, some based on user-tracking.". http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Books
If this is accurate, previews may differ from one person to another by intention. |

I can get up to page 245! I must have been really good in a previous lifetime... I haven't threatened (or slept with) anybody that would explain this, at least not that I can remember.
Oh wait - it says that p. 46 to 208 is not available. ![Crying or Very sad](images/smiles/icon_cry.gif) |
