Blondie's tone with Alumitones is just superb. She is a Carter Custom Shop creation and how she ever escaped her first owner I'll never know!

Here's my black U-12 (double frame with pad). Alumitone pickup. I've owned 5 other guitars, but keep coming back to this one - it just "sings" unlike the others I've had. Great sustain and tone from this guitar (despite my playing).

Well Lane, that expression could be many things:
1. Playing a real great part in a slow song and just feeling sad.
2. I'm lost
3. I'm asleep
4. Gas.
Actually, I always kind of look like that. I get some flack from people over it. I think I am being very serious and just getting involved in my playing. I sorta become one with my guitar.

I originally set up pedal 9 to work with my RKR (traditionally P7 on someone else's guitar) to give me a G Dobro tuning on strings 3 through 8 to use with my dobro simulator. I temper tune, and for reasons I will never understand, I can't seem to get the full 6 string chord to sound in tune. The G is not straight up 440 (I use the Peterson sweetened tuning in their Stroboflip) but strings 3 & 4 are in tune with the G as they should be. But I tune the lower 3 to the exact same offsets as the upper 3 and they don't sound in tune to me. I admit I haven't really played around with getting them to sound more in tune as I rarely use the pedal. Found the dobro effect works just as good on the E9th neck for doing country/rock/blues. Don't play as much Bluegrass as I thought I would which would really benefit from this setup. Plus, I like the ability to use the pedals to get that "Peda-bro" sound. I am thinking of putting my 3rd string C to C# on there, but that would require playing with 2 feet again, the reasons I moved pedals 7 & 8 to knee levers in the first place.

I almost bought one similar to Ned's a few years ago when I got the blonde Williams I used to have. I really like the finish and especially the fretboard. Now I wish I had.

| Can anyone tell me when the addition of the raised logo came about? I've noticed that my '95 has a plain, flat silver decal as where the later Carters I've seen have the raised logo on a chrome backplate. As a matter of fact, I'm not too sure that I've seen any others with the same logo as mine. Also, The shield fretboard markers on my guitar are plain white, and I've noticed that the later models have colored dots or something like that inside each shield... |

Mine is a '99 Carter and has the colored fretboards.
And, you should know better than to post pics like that here. Most of us are old and could have a heart attack at any time.

mine aren't perhaps as eye catching as some, but when Al Brisco sets 'em up for me, they play smooth and true
I really appreciate the low maintenence factor: I leave them set up at home and they need very little adjustment. My steel time is spent playing, which is what I need... |

I just got this Carter because of a nasty car accident thats left me with health problems,i got the Carter because it is a lot lighter than my D10 ZB,i just hope it sounds as good.It plays great sounds good indoors,and looks fantastic.
