This is a double neck i just finished, well almost i have to make a new jack and neck selector piece of wood, (the random piece stuck on the side).
The wood is a 2 and a 1/2 in solid piece of mahogany. I routed everything out which i probably wont do again on a doubleneck.
I enjoy seeing other lap steels from forum members, so i thought i would post these. and maybe a sound clip
The lap steel is alot harder than pedal steel for me, but i am really enjoying it. It forces you to play differently
Thanks Cory

Beautiful work and great tone !!
Routing all of that certainly taught you some valuable luthiery lessons. But again, had you used smaller pieces and glued them together, you would have a completely different sounding instrument.
What tunings are you using at the moment ? _________________ Emmons S-8 P/P,DeArmond 40. Slowly drifting back towards sanity. |

Very nice! The "inside" tuning keys on the bottom neck must have been quite a challenge. |

Thanks for all the nice comments..
Howard I knew I should of made the stand after the guitar
Stan i am using the basic e9 and c6 on a pedal steel.
Chas your right those inside tuning keys were a pretty sketchy, plus the board I had to work with had no extra room that's why I had to extend the bottom necks keyhead.
Thiel, your steel looks awesome, I'm sure it's sounds sweet.
Thanks Cory |
